One of the discussions I often get into when working with clients is should they eat fruit or not.
Fruit contains Fructose which is a sugar. This sugar raises your blood sugar in the same way as sucrose and glucose do which in turn causes your body to release insulin. If this sugar isn’t used by the body when you’re resting, it will, like sugar be stored as fat.
Unlike sugar though, fruit has some nutritional value to people who train and race in endurance events.
In my video this week, I share 5 interesting facts about fruit so you are better informed and more able to decide if it’s something you want to eat.
After watching this video, you will be better informed about the advantages and disadvantages. Going forward you will know when to use fruit to your advantage to benefit from both its sugar content as well as its amazing nutrients.
